Geometry was my WORST subject in school. It was the only class in High School that I ever got a D in, and I was trying (what does that tell you?!)
It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do for this post. I thought it had to be some sort of grand photo with shapes galore-and when I couldn’t find anything, I figured I’d just skip this post…BUT NOT THIS TIME!
Ladies and Gentlemen….Geometry:
(A tutorial about how to make this is to follow!)
I am SO on top of this week’s photo challenge!
Foreign. While foreign (rightly so) often brings up images of things outside of your own nation, it can also apply to things outside of or different from your normal environment, or even something which is out of place in general.
Normally when someone thinks foreign, they think more in terms of a place. In this post, ‘place’ is not the meaning of foreign to me.
This week I had a very foreign topic arise…CARS. Everything about them is so foreign to me and, frankly, kind of intimidating. But, my husband and I powered through a very foreign topic and became masters….well, sort of. At least enough to purchase our ‘new’ beauty!
Here is my version of “Foreign”:
2002 Honda Civic – our beautiful new addition!
I know, I know…I missed last week’s weekly photo challenge. It was ‘big’ and before I realized that I needed to find time to take a photo, this week’s was up and I missed it. Just when I think I understand which day the challenge comes out, they switch it! (Or maybe I just think I have more time than I actually do). SO, ‘big’ is passed and we’re on silhouette.
This is one that I took a few years ago but I added a texture with a blue tint and I think it looks neat!
Lustrous Evening with a blue texture
I was thinking the other day how much changes we go through in our lives. My thoughts started with the changes our tastes go though (for example I hated peas when I was little and now I like them) and then I found this question:
When you think of your life ten years from today, what’s different?
The more I thought about it, the more I realize how much I have changed…granted I was 15 at the time so there’s a huge difference between high school and being an adult (notice how I didn’t say ‘grown up’…I don’t think I’ll ever be a grown up!). Looking back you realize how insignificant high school actually is, even though while you’re living through it you think it’s the most important moment of your life.
With no help from Facebook…
I am comfortable and content with myself and my beliefs, which I think comes with age. I amhealthier than I have ever been in my life (having lost almost 40 lbs 5 years ago-yes 40!) having changed my diet to reflect my thoughts and beliefs (more about that at a different time so get ready!).
I’ve changed my thoughts to be more positive and understanding which has helped me become a happier person (that and 5 years ago finding the man that would become my husband).
My life is far from perfect-it never will be and I don’t think I want it to be but I want to make sure I never stop changing.
and I LOVE butterflies!
I am so excited about this week’s photo challenge (again I may be a little late in getting this out but I think it’s still this week’s)! Anyway, this week’s challenge is Happy! All about things that make you happy! Yay! Since I’m such a sickeningly happy person, of course I couldn’t just pick one thing (no surprise there):
DISCLAIMER: The things that make me Happy are not only limited to the ones in this image! 🙂
First, all the pictures show one theme that makes me really happy: Fall! It’s my favorite season and I just love the changing colors!
The top right picture is one of my husband and I this past weekend. We celebrated our One Year Wedding Anniversary and that makes me Happy!
Seeing unexpected wildlife makes me Happy (see Turkey!)
This last picture, the wedding one, also makes me Happy. Seeing two people, who are perfect for each other, make this kind of a commitment to each other, and in such a beautiful way-makes me SUPER Happy!
There are so many other things that make me Happy: my family, sunny days, animals, coconut ice cream, pictures, home videos, campfires….the list could go on and on (like I said ‘I’m a sickeningly happy person’).
What makes you happy?!
I’m a little late getting this week’s photo challenge up so here it is:
How cute is that?!
I went for a walk with my husband today and saw this father and son fishing. It was just the two of them on this beautiful, calm fall day. What a great photo op! And how cute is the kids little fishing pole?!
This week’s photo challenge is Everyday Life. Said The Daily Post: “This challenge is all about people and the things they do every day: working, eating, drinking, chatting, dreaming, walking, exercising, or any of those things we do all the time without really thinking about it”.
So it seemed like they were looking for a photo of something you wouldn’t normally take a photo of-say your house, your neighborhood, or your place of work-and that came to my mind first as well.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I didn’t work everyday; I didn’t get a chance to walk around my neighborhood every day; and I didn’t spend all day at my house. There was only one thing that was apart of my Everyday Life…my husband. He is there when I wake up in the morning and go to bed at night. He is what I think of when I’m retouching/packaging at work. He is the biggest and most important part of my life…he is my life.
So that is why I’m dedicating this weeks photo challenge to my husband-the love of my Everyday Life:
I know, I know…it’s really cheesy but I DON’T CARE 🙂
