Change

I was thinking the other day how much changes we go through in our lives.  My thoughts started with the changes our tastes go though (for example I hated peas when I was little and now I like them) and then I found this question:

When you think of your life ten years from today, what’s different?

The more I thought about it, the more I realize how much I have changed…granted I was 15 at the time so there’s a huge difference between high school and being an adult (notice how I didn’t say ‘grown up’…I don’t think I’ll ever be a grown up!).  Looking back you realize how insignificant high school actually is, even though while you’re living through it you think it’s the most important moment of your life.

With no help from Facebook…

I am comfortable and content with myself and my beliefs, which I think comes with age. I amhealthier than I have ever been in my life (having lost almost 40 lbs 5 years ago-yes 40!) having changed my diet to reflect my thoughts and beliefs (more about that at a different time so get ready!).

I’ve changed my thoughts to be more positive and understanding which has helped me become a happier person (that and 5 years ago finding the man that would become my husband).

My life is far from perfect-it never will be and I don’t think I want it to be but I want to make sure I never stop changing.

Can I Quote You?

So I’ve been on a bit of a quote kick recently and wanted to share some that I found that really resonated with me. (I found them all on Pinterest).

Things that I have seen in others that have made me change myself: complaining (actually straight up bitching), negativity, being judgmental, talking bad about others. Learning from others has actually helped me be a better person…at least that’s what I hope.

Nothing is perfect but yet it is.

People often say to me “I could never do that” but the truth is, you can. It’s easy once you know what you want and believe in.

It’s so funny to think about this. I know I’m still pretty young but it’s amazing how much life has passed and how much I still have to look forward to.

These last two quotes represent me the most.  I feel that it’s not good to dwell on the negatives; it’s not going to change anything, so why not deal with it and move on (and I’m talking about those little bumps along the road).  Life is about dealing with issues as they present themselves.  Not everything can be great 100% of the time, but the true test is how you handle it.

So Smile, Love, and Laugh.

What are your favorite quotes?  Are there ones that help get you through the tough times or ones that inspire you?
